I can't take any more of these folks. Anyone hear the latest from Louis Farakhan, head of the militant black separatist group Nation of Islam? According to him the U S faces a 'major earthquake' for being in Libya.
Excuse me while I toss my cornflakes. This is one aspect of liberalism & support for folks like Farrakhan I don't understand...its support for folks that wish to see them the most dead.
First off check an Islamic source like www.islamzine.com, and they'll tell you the nation of Islam was in fact started by an ex-convict in the 20th Century who called himself Elijah Muhammad, when actual Islam states that after Muhammad, peace be upon him, there are no more prophets. The most known member of this sect, Malcolm X, walked out on 'em after making a pilgrimage to Meccah & witnessing pilgrims of all colors show their faith. His reward? In the tradition of the peaceful, assassination.
Second if Farrakhan actually kept track of news in the Muslim world, looked around him, he'd see that Muslims in Arab countries, to this day, have a very low regard for the black man. In Mauritania, which is a southwestern neighbor to Mr Squid's Algeria, the black man to this day is enslaved. These people are beaten in the context of working as domestics for the Arab when they do stuff like fall asleep after 12 or so hours of work. Slavery was abolished in this nation only in 1981, yet the government still has a tendency to look the other way. Those brutalized usually make it over the border to Senegal to escape it. Doesn't he hear of stories like members of the Saudi royal family beating Asian domestics or, in Iman Ali Hirsi's book 'Infidel' of black children being mistreated in the Saudi peninsula, in spite of being Muslim themselves? Why oh why do black folks care so much about U S involvement in places like Iraq & Libya when they are regarded as slaves by these people? Why do the so called socially progressive spend so much time defending those who most want to see them dead? I can't count how many times I've heard the word 'nigger' out of Arab mouths, and know their feelings about gays & lesbians, yet I even knew a lesbian...biracial at that...willing to defend an Iranian 'Muslim' who estranged his daughter from her mother. When are these folks going to wake up and smell the coffee?
We oughta cage-fight Louis Farakhan and Pat Buchannon - sell tickets to that show and we could put a dent in the National debt.
I don't pay much attention to politics anymore: both sides are fools and deserve each other. You're right though, and where are the feminists when it comes to oppressed Islamic women? Oh yeah, they're too busy complaining that a woman overheard two men telling a private joke, that wasn't even about her, and because of what she thought she overheard, she's offended and gets the guy labeled a sexual harrasser just like certain high-roller politicians who did said harrassing for real.
The whole foolishness is full of inconsistencies.

Before the religion is terrible crowd gets to this post I thought I'd say I whole-heartedly agree with this post. No wonder so many people turn their nose up at western religion with crap like this going on. Disgraceful.
And one wonders why missionaries from former communist countries are traveling to evangelize the western world - because many modern western religious groups were considered fringe groups only a decade or two ago (Camping, anyone?)
I'm sure there are also Christians in the US who believe the US will be punished for intervening in Libya and other countries. Believers in all religions shouldn't claim to know what they don't. No Christians or Muslims know whether or not the US will be punished for intervening in Libya.
